BUILDING BLOCKS
Units 12-20 and 1 Overview
Continuing to build on the fundamentals, Units 12-20 provide children with the building blocks for self-introspection, self-respect and respect for others.
Unit 12: Sticking to the Task
Children will have a newfound motivation to get started on a mitzvah task with zrizus (alacrity), stick to their tasks, and master a simple method to refocus if they become distracted.
Unit 13: Taking Responsibility
Children will understand the meaning and value of mistakes, accidents, and taking risks. They will realize that we all make mistakes, but the key is to act responsibly about them.
Unit 14: Respecting Hashem’s Food (Tu BiShvat)
A lesson from a tree will inspire children to grow in their Torah and mitzvos, with a special emphasis on respecting Hashem's food.
Unit 15: Emes — Speaking Truthfully (Emes, Part 1)
Children will understand what it means to tell the truth just for the sake of truth, and how the truth always rises to the surface.
Unit 16: Emes — Using Your Imagination Appropriately (Emes, Part 2)
Children will realize the importance of telling the truth even when it feels uncomfortable, and they will strengthen their emes skills by learning when it is or isn't the appropriate time to follow their imagination's creative ideas.
Unit 17: Simchah: Positively Happy (Purim)
Children will learn how to view things in a positive light and feel the benefits of being happy. They will acquire the tools to overcome negativity.
Unit 18: Rallying for Respect
The children will have an overview of what derech eretz (respecting elders) and kibbud av va’em (respecting parents) entails.
Unit 19: Chametz Removal (Pesach, Part 1)
The children will understand how anivus — humbleness — is compared to matzah, and gain the tools necessary to remove chametz, haughtiness, from within them.
Unit 20: Bring on the Matzah (Pesach, Part 2)
The children will gain the necessary tools to strengthen their humility and understanding of how valuable every Jew is, empowering them to act humbly.
1 Grand Multi-Level Overview
This interactive grand overview will give educators an opportunity to review the units and give the children a chance to demonstrate understanding and mastery of the tools and lessons they've gained thus far. It contains enough material for two presentations.
